Globalisation and eduction

  • Globalisation is cultural, communication and economic connectedness of societies across the world.
  • For example the symbol used by Apple is recognised across the world.
  • The symbol has the same meaning no matter what country you’re in
  • Other products have also moved from being local to global brands, for example Coca Cola, MacDonalds, Ford etc
  • Globalisation allows firms to outsource manufacturing. For example the UK firm Dyson manufactures its products in Malaysia because labour costs are much cheaper
  • Globalisation allows Dyson to have its head office in the UK but its manufacturing in another country but the UK office is still able to use 24/7 communication technology to keep an eye on oversees production
