New Media and Age

  • There’s a substantial generational gap in access to and use of new media.
  • Much of this stems from young people (16-24) having grown up with new media technology at home, in school etc especially through owning smart devices like iPads, iPhones etc
  • In contrast to 16-24 year-old’s, older people are less likely to own a smartphone, have internet access, access internet via mobile phone, get news on mobile devices
