Sociology 10 mark questions

Ten mark questions are examining your knowledge and understanding of a particular topic.

If you look at the questions below, your first task is to identify to causes or reasons which will answer the question asked. Once that’s out of the way, your next task is to write in an analytical way. In order words explain, in some detail, why the point you’ve identified has the affect it does.

What’s worth noting here, is how AQA have already identified students are finding 10 mark questions a particular challenge. Therefore it’s worth practicing these types of questions using a structure which:

  1. you begin by identifying a point you want to write about
  2. writing about that point in as much detail as you can (an example often helps)
  3. then linking your answer back to the question so you actually answer the question
  4. no evaluation is needed for full marks, if you don’t believe me follow the link above AQA!!
  5. then repeat the above process by identifying your second point and continue from there
